About CCA
Connecting Communities in the Americas (CCA) is a collective of community foundations and partners across the hemisphere working together to spark local change through cross-border dialogue, shared learning, and dynamic community leadership.
Our mission
...is to inspire and strengthen community foundations and partners across the Americas for local impact as they address local realities that transcend borders.
Our governance
CCA is currently governed by a Steering Committee made up of community foundation support organizations in Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the United States. As the network expands, we are revisiting the governance model to ensure equitable participation and representation across countries and regions of the Americas.

Where we work
Connecting Communities in the Americas (CCA) spans the entire region—from Argentina and Chile to the northernmost parts of Canada, including the Caribbean and U.S. Pacific Territories. While community foundations are deeply rooted in local work, we recognize that the challenges we face in areas like economic opportunity, social welfare, climate, and migration are deeply interconnected and transnational.
That’s why learning and planning together matters.
CCA is also a multilingual network. We know that no single language reflects the full reality of our hemisphere, nor does it ensure equitable participation. By honoring each person’s context, culture, and language, we create the conditions for trust and genuine collaboration across borders.

Our impact
CCA participants gain insights that TRANSFORM HOW THEIR COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONS ENGAGE WITH THEIR COMMUNITIES—from strengthening local relationships and reimagining grantmaking, to stepping into bold roles as conveners and catalysts for community-driven solutions. See the CCA 10-Year Reflection and our Resources Page for specific examples of the impact CCA has had.
Since 2018, CCA has involved:
600+ participants
266 organizations
13 countries
These are examples of what CCA participants are saying:
...We are embracing the challenge of acting locally with a global focus, recognizing that our region's challenges cannot be resolved in isolation, but rather through [a lens of] interdependence. - Peru
...The CCA grant has allowed us to become knowledge leaders within our region around issues impacting immigrant populations…we became trusted sources on the importance of creating welcoming environments. - USA
...We were inspired by the way Fondo Monteverde has created long-term connections with community partners, confirming the importance of our own work of continually prioritizing trusting relationships and shared responsibility with our local nonprofits. - Ecuador
